Climate Lit Earth Day Fest 2022
This event has already occurred, but you can watch the recording below.
Just about a year ago, we began drafting ideas for what would become Climate Lit. We had a sense that stories for young people are a powerful tool to raise awareness and mobilize climate action. We knew that schools are not yet set up for climate literacy education and thus fail to meet young people’s need for deep conversations on this topic that can lead to a deep transformation. And we heard from many of you that a resource hub for teaching climate literacy would amplify our individual efforts toward re-stor(y)ing education across all subject areas. The vision was to leverage stories and help transform schools into spaces where Earthlings find inspiration to create an ecological civilization.
At Climate Lit’s Earth Day Fest 2022 we will celebrate our Mother Planet and the first anniversary of our project. You will hear about our accomplishments, current work, and hopes for the future. You will meet other team members and share suggestions about the opportunities and challenges lying ahead. Climate Lit is a collective effort and it can only grow as such. The Fest will offer us all a space to meet, share, and toast together. We’re honored to be celebrating the first year of Climate Lit with all of you creative Earthlings and we hope you can join us. Together, we are stronger. Our voice is louder too.
The Fest will be a 2-hour virtual event on Friday, Apr 22 at 4 to 6 pm CST featuring members of the Climate Lit team and Climate Lit ambassadors Jon Scieszka, Steven Weinberg, Adam Gidwtiz, and more. Bring as many guests as you dare! We will draw prizes!
